The Institute for Inclusive Health (Instituto de Salud Incluyente) is a public health, social development, and social medicine initiative. We are composed of professional men and women, most of whom have a medical background. We have seen the problems Guatemala faces, both in governmental and non-governmental institutions as well as academic institutions. A main setback these institutions face is the ability to perform research that would allow them to gain a better understanding of the country’s health issues and therefore come up with practical proposals to address these issues.

We want to be a reference point for Latin America; to be recognized as a high-functioning institution both technically and academically. We are committed to transforming politics as well as the health system to be able to promote equity in healthcare access. Through practice, we seek to have a better understanding of the health-disease process.
